Born on La Brea.

And Still opened its doors in May 2008 at 114 S. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles with a specific point of view: the sportswear people remembered from the late ’80s and early ’90s deserved to be treated as something worth preserving.

The shop specialized in original, unworn deadstock sportswear. Starter jackets, snapbacks, jerseys, graphic tees and other pieces from basketball, football, baseball, hockey, wrestling and the culture surrounding them filled the store. These were not reproductions made to look old. They were surviving pieces from the era itself.

La Brea was becoming one of Los Angeles’ defining streetwear destinations, with shops including Union, Stüssy and Undefeated nearby. And Still brought something different to the block: an archive of sports nostalgia you could actually buy.

The physical store was memorable in its own right, including a boxing ring inside the space. But the inventory made it a destination. Musicians, actors, designers, stylists, collectors and visiting buyers came through looking for pieces that had become increasingly difficult to find in untouched condition.

And Still built its reputation around clean, unworn vintage, sourcing original sportswear that had survived for years in new condition.

By the early 2010s, And Still had become known well beyond Los Angeles for its depth of ’80s and ’90s sportswear. Publications including GQ, Sole Collector, LAist and The Hundreds documented the store and its unusually deep archive of deadstock sports apparel.

And still here.

The name has always fit. In an early interview, its meaning was described through several ideas: “and still heavyweight champion,” “and still cool,” and, most importantly, “and still here.”

Today, And Still returns to that original idea in a new form. The storefront on La Brea is part of the history, but the point of view remains the same: find the pieces that survived, preserve what made them special, and put them back into the world.
